In the time crunch of writing my mom's obituary I forgot to mention the legendary "Bridge Ladies". She was an avid bridge player and rarely missed the monthly Bridge luncheon! Many thanks to the Bridge Ladies for attending her memorial! May you play bridge forever! |

Barbara and Bob have been our very close neighbours and friends in Sun Valley for Many years. She was a delightful spirit we loved and we cherish the times spent with her and Bob and the family - skiing, dinners, movies, Apples for lunch, music evenings, Pio and hot tubs. We will truly miss her and her wonderful presence. She will be missed by all who knew her and especially her family. |

Dear Robert, Holly, Robin, John, and family, I had the priveledge to work with Mrs. Snellman since October of last year. She was a very kind and loving person. Her life was centered around her family and you all gave her great love and affection. She loved being home and it was apparent how much strength she drew from being there. She was so very sad when she lost Louie a few months ago and Max always brought her a huge amount of love and joy. I will be working with a client this afternoon and I cannot attend her memorial in person. I'll be there in spirit. I will miss her, and she is in my prayers. Best regards, David Lasser Poulsbo |

To the family of Barbara Snellman, What a wonderful welcoming woman Barbara was!! Our lives overlapped in sailing, skiing and living on the water on Bainbridge Island. We shared "A" dock with our sailboats and we shared good times at Edelweiss Condos in Sun Valley. Barbara was always a gracious host. What a joy it was to know her. We keep you all in our prayers and I know Robert will miss her terribly. God bless You always, In his Love, Scooty + e-hugs |

John and Family, Your mother made such an impression on my life when I needed it the most. I have taken some lessons and past them on to my girls. One of them is "fake it with authority" when you are unsure of yourself. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to get to know her. I am also reminded of her when I get together with with girl friends for adventures and when I hear "crazy ladies" I know I am not the original but will enjoy being part of that category. My wish for you is to have the stength to get through this sorrow quickly and enjoy life as she did. God bless you all. |

I always loved my walks down the beach especially when I found Barbara outside so we could have a good visit. We loved sharing our "Pokey" stories and all the neighbors were grateful to Barbara for sharing him with us. I admired Barbara's upbeat, friendly personality as well as her many talents. Pleasant Beach has lost a dear neighbor.

I'm crying today over the loss of a great lady whom I will truly miss. Barbara was "Mrs. Davis" to me as a little girl in Normandy Park, the mother of one of my best friends there, Robin. We shared so many wonderful times carpooling to our morning swim team workouts with the Red Shield Tritons, and to meets with Normandy Park Swim Club. I can still hear Barbara's voice giving us her advice and encouragement. I remember the VW bus, right? Also the trip in the camper to Kalaloch! Robin, our moms must have been in cahoots over your gift to me at my 10Th birthday party...a gerbil! I wanted to be just like my friend and play the violin. HA! Harder than I thought, but again, your mom encouraged and cajoled and accompanied me on the piano at every contest I was convinced (?) to enter! She made quite an impression on me as a little girl. She could do anything and believed that I could too! I left home and while I was growing up our moms became VERY close friends. They skied together on Wednesdays in the winter and hiked and sailed together in the spring, summer, and fall. They were the "Crazy Ladies", and I am still in awe of all their adventures! My mom, Imogene, and Barbara were tent mates for many years...DECADES! In fact, Barbara spoke about their escapades at my mom's celebration of life in 2001. They had such colorful lives and such FUN together! I'm still looking for my group of fearless, adventurous women and almost envy what they shared. After Imogene passed, I spent many hours on the phone talking with Barbara and visited her on Bainbridge. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a great laugh that I can hear quite clearly. She always made me want to improve myself, to live more. She inspired me in so many ways. She had so many interests and talents, but her greatest love of all, without a doubt, was her family. She beamed when she shared about her children and grandchildren. She was so proud of all of you and your accomplishments. You are sooo lucky to have had such a beautiful mother and grandmother. My heart goes out to you, and Bob, as you come to terms with your loss. I know you will cherish your wonderful memories, as I will, and I pray that God will comfort you at this difficult time. My love to all of you.

Will always remember Barbara for her adventures and the stories that followed. She was the best story teller and she didn't need to embelish. She was brave and tough and funny.
