Cook Family Funeral Home sponsors the US Marine Corps Toys For Tots program during the holiday season. Throughout the many years, thousands of toys have been donated to help children in need. The 2018 Toy Drive will begin November 16th and end December 20th. Please bring your toy donations to the funeral home (163 Wyatt Way NE). We will also be collecting funds and food to benefit The Helpline House on Bainbridge Island.

Passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017. He was born on September 11, 1922 in Sheen, England and was 94 years of age. Robert was an English film director. He directed more than 40 films between 1956 and 1991. Robert worked his way up from clapper boy to camera operator, then cinematographer, in his native England, and began directing in the mid-1950s. Frank Buxton was a gift to Bainbridge Island who just kept on giving. Frank, was a veteran of television, movies and radio and a familiar and beloved face on the Kitsap arts scene for more than a quarter of a century. "The Bainbridge community was everything to him," said John Ellis, who got to know Buxton when both were students in an improvisation class at Bainbridge Performing Arts — the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Embracing the need for more Eco-Friendly products at the time of a death, the funeral home now offers Eco-Caskets that are made from Seagrass, Willow, or Bamboo.
