T. Michael  Henderson Jr., passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 at his residence on Bainbridge Island, Washington. He was born on March 11, 1966, in Urbana, IL and was 51 years of age. He died of natural causes.

Michael grew up in Lake Forest, IL. He attended the Hill School in Pottstown, PA, and later Drew University, in Madison, NJ, where he majored in political science. After graduating college, he worked in politics and later financial services and retail.

Growing up, he loved rooting for his hometown teams: Bears, Bulls, and especially Cubs. His passion for his sports teams continued throughout his life – a pinnacle being his Cubbies finally winning the World Series. He also enjoyed fishing, reading, being outdoors, gardening, scuba diving and travelling to new places and meeting new people. In the spring, he had taken a dream vacation to St. Maarten.

Eighteen years ago he met his wife, Kara Henderson (Hoskins), in Chicago and they married in Sonoma County, CA, at Landmark Vineyards. During their 11-year marriage, they shared treasured memories and lived in many wonderful communities: Bexley, OH; Bainbridge Island, WA; Barrington, IL and most recently Fishers, IN. Bainbridge Island was a special place where their beloved daughter, Skyler Nicole Henderson, was born. He liked spending time with his family including their yellow lab dogs, Beckett and Hunter.

In addition, to his wife and 8-year old daughter, he is survived by his mother, Nancy Bene, of Duxbury, MA; his father, T. Michael Henderson of Las Cruces, NM; his sisters Eleanor Bene of Seattle, WA, and Margaret Pierce (Rob) of Duxbury, MA; and two nephews (Brewster & Willie).

Funeral mass will be at Saint Louis de Montfort Parish in Fishers, Indiana, on Monday, December 4 at 11am. Visitation will be at 10am the same day. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Michael’s honor to benefit his daughter or the United Way of Central Indiana.
