Alton Bruce Jeffcoat

passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at his home in Poulsbo, Washington. He was 68 years of age and born on December 12, 1938.Bruce was born in Montgomery, Alabama, son of the late John Orville Jeffcoat and Raleigh Corbin Jeffcoat. He spent his youth in North Carolina and Alaska before joining the US Navy and rising to Chief Warrant Officer serving on submarines. He retired in 1977 and following his retirement, went to work for NASA tracking satellites in Alaska.Bruce, an avid sailor and antique car enthusiast was a member of the Bainbridge Yacht Club, the Puget Sound Early Birds Classic Thunderbird Club, and the Agate Pass Sail and Power Squadron.Bruce was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Joseph Jeffcoat.He is survived by his devoted daughter, Denise Jeffcoat Bridges, his son-in-law Barry Wade Bridges, his grand children, Benjamin Wade Bridges, Thomas Edward Bridges, Ansley Engram Bridges, Camella Grace Bridges, his sisters, Peggy Jeffcoat Watson and Martha Jeffcoat Wood.Bruce Jeffcoat was a gentle man of honor and integrity who will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.Services were held on August 4, 2007 at Grace Episcopal Church and the Seabold Cemetery on Bainbridge Island.In honor of his memory, donations can be made to the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund, P.O.
