90, wife of Glenn Gustavson (deceased), passed away April 28, 2010. Born to John and Karen (Salveson) Stevens May 4, 1919 in Seattle, Washington, she attended Lawton Elementary and graduated from Garfield High School in 1937.There was no shortage of fun filled days with Beverly and Glenn as they entertained many of their friends and family in both Quilcene and Edmonds homes. Beverly always enjoyed the out of doors, gardening and fishing. Her sense of humor always livened every event.An accomplished cellist, Beverly played in the Seattle All City Orchestra in high school and later in the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra and the Port Townsend Symphony. She also taught several cello students.She enjoyed many years of hand weaving and was a past president of the Seattle Weavers Guild.Beverly married her husband Glenn in 1940. During their 68 years of marriage, they traveled the world, beginning with numerous camping trips in the United States and Canada and later cruising, touring and driving in Europe, Russia, China, Indonesia, South America, Australia and New Zealand.Leaving Seattle in 1945, they moved to the woods of Edmonds, where they built three homes. After watching the area grow from wilderness to suburbia, upon retiring, they again yearned for the wilderness and built two homes in Quilcene. They lived a glorious life on Hood Canal until 2007, when health forced their move to assisted living and later to a care facility on Bainbridge Island. She is survived by a daughter, Karla Waterman (Gary) of Bainbridge Island and son Michael (Joan) of Southworth, four grandchildren, Andrew Waterman, Charles Waterman (Robin), J.B. Waterman and Kaaren Caraway (T.J.), great grandchildren Alexis Caraway and Cole Waterman, a brother John Stevens (Marla) and numerous nieces and nephews.She was a charter member of Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Chimacum and later a member of Bethany Lutheran Church on Bainbridge Island.The public is invited to her burial Service at the Quilcene Cemetery May 4 at 11:00 AM. A public memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at 2:00, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Bainbridge Island WA June 5, 2010.In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Beverly may be sent to Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra, P.O. Box 177 , Seattle, WA. 98111.
