Brianna Colleen Coglon

d. December 4, 2007

Our beautiful daughter was born on December 4th, 1986, in Seattle and left us December 14th, 2007. In her short life, she filled our hearts with warmth, love of life and joy. She was the center of and an irreplaceable part of her family and was the one who bridged a blended family of two older brothers, a younger brother, mom and dad. While young she developed a sound and deep sense of humor, honesty, and loyalty to both family and friends. She was baptized and grew in her spiritual life at Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church; attending Soundview Presbyterian Camp growing in her understanding of life and God. In the summers between 5th - to 9th grade she attended Soundview Presbyterian Camp in the summers both as a camper then as cook and counselor.During Middle School she was:*Recognized by her peers and teachers as a Natural Helper for her caring open and nonjudgmental nature*Discovered her natural acting talent and became active with Bainbridge Performing Arts in the BPA Children's Theater and in a couple of musicalsWhile attending Bainbridge High School she:*Discovered her ability and love of writing*Developed her natural talents in dance, acting, drawing/painting, designing clothes, and sculpture. She was recognized for her Raku masks by the State of Washington - those masks now hang in Washington State offices in OlympiaHighly valued, honesty, fairness, devotion to friends & family, quality service to others and lived those values out in her work at home, the Bainbridge Pavilion Theater, Adam and Eve, Magnolia Shoes. Her last, favorite and most satisfying job while on Bainbridge was working as a waitress at Madoka RestaurantThe year after High School, she pursued her dream of acting and modeling, was signed by Chicago modeling agency and went to Greece to experience ‘real modeling'. With real life knowledge of the industry, she recognized that her values and passion actually lay in serving others and photography. In the last year of her life, she and her best friend and partner Brendan O'Leary attended college at Evergreen College in Olympia and were planning their future life together. Both had a desire to travel to Ireland and immerse themselves in their Celtic heritage.Brianna often spoke of motherhood and having her own family someday. She was considering the professions of teaching, nursing and counseling, as well as avocations such as catering, photography, and fashion.Brianna is survived by her younger brother, Ian, her older brothers Andrew and Matthew (including his family: wife Theresa and son Aidan, of Seattle), as well as her mother, Maureen McDonald and father, Ron Coglon, and Uncle Mike McDonald and his family in Minnesota.A public viewing will be Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Cook Family Funeral Home from 5-7 PM, 163 Wyatt Way NE on Bainbridge Island, WA [Map].
