Dale A. Dash
1938-2021
Dale A. Dash, beloved partner of Carol Reanier, passed on July 21, of natural causes at his home on Bainbridge Island, WA. In addition to Carol he is survived by his daughter, Laurie Deveny (Matt), and his son, Michael (Shawna), and grandchildren: Courtney, Brittany, and Ryan Deveny, and Katherine Dash. "Dash" as he was known by Carol and friends, was born in Calgary, Canada, in 1938, and moved to Portland, Oregon, with his parents. In his youth, he became a U.S. citizen, graduated from Grant High School in Portland, and the University of Oregon with a degree in geology. He also served in the U.S. Military (Army) Dash enjoyed being in Sales in the aggregate/cement industry working with Kaiser, Ashgrove, and Lehigh Hanson companies.
Dash was an avid sports guy in High School especially football at Grant High, snow skiing, scuba diving, piloting a small plane and playing lots of golf at Bainbridge Island's Wing Point Golf and Country Club. He was a major car buff focusing on racing and showing Porsches. His pride was a 356c Porsche which he rebuilt, showed, and drove for pleasure. It was prized and registered as one of the first of its series. He enjoyed good food and liked to replicate recipes to his liking. Dash favored his friends, family, and his pet dogs: Duffy (yellow lab), Karsten (black Scottie), and Kargo (black Labradoodle).
His passion for what he did and his family and friends was heartfelt and sincere. He loved his adopted USA. A Celebration of his Life will be held for family and friends on October 2nd, 1:00 pm, Wing Point Golf and Country Club, Bainbridge Island, WA.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Cook Family Funeral Home of Bainbridge Island.
