passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at her home in Kingston, Washington. She was born on September 14, 1922 to Ellen and Peter Jack (Jackson). She was 87 years of age. She was committed to helping family during the holidays with food basics and other necessities. Irene loved to crochet, play bingo and go to the casino. She was a member of the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe. From 1959 to 1960 she formed the off reservation Indians Organization and was Chairperson of that Organization for 6 years. She was also a member of the Indian Child Welfare Advisory Committee for 15 years. Irene was a member of the enrollment committee for the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe until her death. In addition, she sat on the housing board the tribe for 10 years. She is survived by her sister's Rosemary Achberger and Betty Hamlin, children; Rose (Robert) Stewart, Ellen (Herman) Price, Don Purser, Ralph (Debbie) Purser, Stanton Purser, Kathy (Conrad) Purser-Sullivan and Penny Purser. There are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Lloyd Purser, Sister's Shirley, Grace, Hazle, brother's Lester and Ben, parent's Peter and Ellen Jack and son's Robert, Ben and Gary. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 11AM - 1 PM, with Funeral Services beginning at 1 PM at the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribal Gym in Kingston, Washington. Interment will take place at the tribal cemetery. A reception at the gym will follow.Memorial Contributions: Can be made to the Port Gamble S'Klallam Food Bank.
