Kenneth Millard Lemon

passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at his home in Suquamish, Washington. He was born on July 30, 1922 in Rosland, Washington and was 86 years of age. He was a long time resident of Suquamish.Kenneth was born in Roslyn, WA on July 30, 1922 and later married Dorothy J. Skiller in 1949. He joined the Navy and served in WWII. Kenneth worked at Pope 'N' Talbot Mill in Port Gamble on the greenchain for many years, then was a fork lift driver for them until he retired in 1989. He enjoyed fishing and camping in his younger years. In his later years he enjoyed listening to the Seattle Sea Hawks and Mariners and would talk about the games to whoever would listen. He was a very hard worker, splitting wood and working in the yard when he could. He loved his dog (Meagan) very dearly and would take her for short walks every couple of hours. He was known as "Grandpa" to many in Suquamish. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Leon, one brother Charles, four sisters Mabel, Myrtle, Hazel and Bernice, sons Elmer D. Camelin and Gary D. Lemon and one grandchild David L. Lemon. He is leaving behind the loves of his life, life long companion Dorothy J. Rapp of the family home. Daughters Nanette E. Adams (Vince) of Suquamish, Melissa C. Wilson (Phillip) of Jacksboro, Tennessee and son Philip L. Lemon (Christi) of Kingston, WA. Grandchildren; Tammi Nelson, Shelly Dildine, Kenneth Camelin, Debbra Warren, Jerry and Terry Camelin, Christine West, Cindy Adams,, Levi Mabe, Melissa, Jessika, Billy Mann and Teena Kennedy. There are numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, nephews, nieces and many loving friends. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 from 4-8 PM at Cook Family Funeral Home, 163 Wyatt Way NE on Bainbridge Island. The Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 2:30 PM at The Suquamish Community House on Suquamish Way in Suquamish, Washington. A potluck will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the New Tribal Center.
