died of natural causes in Bremerton on July 18, 2016. Mary was born in Port Townsend, WA on December 1, 1947 to Martha Charles and Herbert Charles. She is preceded in death by Mother Martha Charles, Father Herbert Charles, Brother Herbie Charles, and Great Grand daughter Maria Hernandez.She has survived by Husband Charles Trevathan; Children Leah Symes, Greg Sullivan, Stephanie Sullivan, Tammy Sullivan, Hatsi Trevathan, and Carilla Trevathan; and many grand children, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.She worked as a fisher woman for most of her life and also many years for the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe as an early childhood teacher and a Community Health Representative, where she was certified as a Certified Nurses Assistant. She played the role of a ‘second mother' to people in her life by taking in many kids who needed a place to live.Her family meant the world to her. She loved to drum and sing, paddle in the canoe, weave, spend time with family, cook, bowl, play at the casino, and especially travel. Her extensive travel list includes numerous trips to Laughlin, Reno, and Las Vegas Nevada, the Grand Canyon, Alaska, Hawaii, Florida, California, Idaho, Oklahoma, Oregon, Canada, Tennessee where she got to visit Graceland, and to New York to See the Seahawks win the Superbowl. She was a big fan of the Seahawks. She loved putting on her annual Luau & annual Firework show every summer. Memorial services will be held in Little Boston, on Tuesday July 26 at 1:00. Her annual Memorial Firework show will be held at dusk following to help with the celebration of her life. Please sign the online Guest Book for the family.
