passed away on Friday, September 21, 2007 at her daughter's home on Bainbridge Island, Washington.Mary lived on Bainbridge Island for the past 62 years. She was 93 years of age and born on March 25, 1914 in Chilliwack, British Columbia to Andrew James and Annie George. She was attended St. Cecilia Catholic Church on Bainbridge Island and was chosen "Mother of The Year" on Bainbridge Island in 1985. Mary also was a language teacher (Nooksack) and a member of the Nooksack Tribe and Skway Band. She is survived by her children; Joy Belmont (Harold), Penny Miguel (Ron), Daniel Rapada (Doreen), Jeannie Campbell (Robert), Allen Rapada (Diane), Chief Rapada (Judy), Gilda Corpuz (Pete), Linda Hart, Juanita Javier (Manuel), Honorato "Bo" Rapada Jr. (Nadine), James Rapada (Arlene) and Reconar Rapada (Rosalind). There are 47 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-great-grandchild and many other loving family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Honorato Rabara Rapada in 1996, also her son Sonny Rapada in 2001 and her siblings; Emmy Rose, Libby, Doc and Joe Mack.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Monday, September 24, 2007 from 4-7 PM and attend the Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, 1310 Madison Avenue NE on Bainbridge Island. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 25th at 11:30 AM at the church. Interment will take place at Island Center Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church - Conger Hall. Memorial contributions can be made to The Hospice of Kitsap County or the Kobi C. Rapada Scholarship Fund.Arrangements entrusted to Cook Family Funeral Home.
