Nadine Violanda Grigoni

passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at The Messenger House on Bainbridge Island, Washington. She lived on Bainbridge Island for the past eight years. Previously, Nadine spent many years working as a hospital nurse in Arlington where she was known for her cheerful, outgoing and optimistic nature, traits that helped many patients and their families through difficult times. She retained that nature until her death. Nadine was born on June 18, 1917 in Hibbing, Minnesota. She was 91 years of age. Nadine was a member of the VFW, Moose Lodge and was a WWII Veteran's wife. Her husband, Evo J. Grigoni, killed in action during WWII, is buried at Lorraine National Military Cemetery in St. Avold, France. She is survived by her son; Michael L. Grigoni of Bainbridge Island, Washington, grandchildren; Michael R. Grigoni of Cambridge, MA and Cristina M. Middleton of Des Moines, WA and her sister, Nan Znidar of Minneapolis, MN. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren: Gabriella and Violetta Middleton and Emilia Grigoni. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, July 10, 2008 beginning at 9:00 AM with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 1310 Madison Avenue NE on Bainbridge Island. Interment will take place at Port Blakely Cemetery on Bainbridge Island. Arrangements entrusted to Cook Family Funeral Home.
