Rolf Hogger

January 28, 1963 — January 16, 2023

Rolf Hogger, cherished husband, father, son, brother, and friend passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2023, doing what he loved most, riding the waves in the ocean in the warm breeze in Hawaii. He died at the prime of his life at 59-year-old, two weeks shy of his 60 th birthday. While his life was too short, he lived every moment to the fullest.

Rolf was born to Andreas and Brigitte Hogger on January 28, 1963. After graduating from Curtis High School, he worked three jobs to obtain a business degree with a minor in German from Pacific Lutheran University. His ability to put himself through college kickstarted a long and successful entrepreneurial career.

Rolf had an eye for detail, discerning vision, a business acumen that was unsurpassed and a drive to create prosperity for his family and friends alike. Building was a central theme in Rolf’s life. He built a beautiful home for his family. He built many successful businesses, including MRJ Constructors, which he founded with his brother and a lifelong friend. He built countless friendships which lasted a lifetime. He was also the go-to person for family and friends seeking financial advice or just an understanding and supportive ear. He always had time to help others realize their dreams and made himself available, regardless of how busy he was.

Beyond being a talented businessperson, what Rolf will be remembered for the most is being an incredible husband and father. He always put family first. Rolf married Molly on August 20, 1994. They enjoyed a beautiful marriage of almost three decades and two incredible kids, Micaela and Jacob, his pride and joy.

Rolf squeezed every minute out of the day. He believed that everyone should have at least five hobbies. He enjoyed hiking, biking, snowboarding, kiteboarding, and winging. He was an avid wine enthusiast and invested in a start-up winery to grow this passion. He also loved traveling the globe with family and friends, embracing cultures, beliefs, and people. His presence is missed all over the world from Mexico, Germany to Africa by friends he met along the way.

For those who had the privilege of knowing Rolf, they will never forget the exemplary way he lived his life. His interactions were always noteworthy for honesty, humility, and kindness. He was the consummate example of a caring and compassionate human being, augmented by a brilliant mind and a zest for adventure.

Rolf is preceded in death by his mother, Brigitte Hogger and father Andreas Hogger. He is survived by his wife, Molly Hogger, children, Micaela Hogger, Jacob Hogger, brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Beth Hogger, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rolf packed a lot into a short 59 years. He lived a great life, was loved by many and will never be forgotten.
