Stone Ridley Wickham

August 22, 2002 — July 24, 2022

Stone Ridley Wickham, age 19, of Poulsbo, WA, was tragically and abruptly taken from us on July 24, 2022. Though Stone would call Poulsbo home and those that live here his friends and family, he was born in Steilacoom, to Matthew and Dorothy Wickham. After Lakewood, Stone and his family moved to Lacey, and Yelm, before finally settling in at Poulsbo. While the conversation never came up, it was obvious from his actions and the friends he surrounded himself with that Stone would call Poulsbo home - a city and area that he loved.

Stone was young and still trying to figure himself out. However, in recent months he was becoming the adult he would ultimately be: a goofy, music-loving, but always helpful, man. While many teenagers say, “No” or “I don’t want to,” when asked for something or to do something, Stone was always willing to help and even willing to give you the blanket off his bed.

It took him a few years, but Stone finally found a job at the local Safeway at which he was content. Yet, to say he loved working would be a stretch - he was after all still a teenager. Stone, like so many of us, didn’t live to work, he worked so that he would live and play. For as long as his hands could hold anything and his brain processed sounds, Stone played video games and listened to music. Early on, even as he listened to music, video games took center stage in his life. As he got older, however, those interests switched. Music in all forms - listening, playing, and writing - became more important. This played into his seemingly voracious hobby of collecting and playing, guitars and basses. Stone had a nice assortment of instruments that month after month continued to expand.

Stone is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was through his church that he met many friends. And it is the institution that allowed Stone to grow his faith. More importantly, Stone’s church and his belief in its teaching tell him and his family that they will be together forever. They are comforted knowing that they will be able to see this goofy and loveable young man once again.

Stone was predeceased by his grandmothers Mary Weigel and Gwendolyn Wickham, and his aunt Samantha Weigel - all wonderful women taken from this life too early.

Stone is survived by his parents, Matthew and Dorothy Wickham; his sisters Ambria Krohn (Dawson), Julianna and Quinn Wickham; his brothers, Maximus and Ivan; his grandparents Dominick Weigel Sr., Linda Weigel, and Blaine Wickham; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, whom he loved very much.
