Anne J. Rice, 101, of Bainbridge Island, WA, and formerly of Tulsa, OK, Galveston, Texas, and New York, passed away peacefully at home on August 8, 2022. Anne was well known for her sense of humor and stories and was a good lifelong friend to all who knew her. Laughter was never absent in her presence. During her life, she was a dancer, a skilled quilter, an avid bridge player, and a willing companion, joining her friends at any event.
Her great joy in life was her exercise classes, particularly at the Health Zone at St. Francis. Anne attributed her long life to her workouts and often said: “The only way to keep moving is to keep moving.”
Anne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Norman S. Rice, after 52 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Larsen and her husband, Lawrence Larsen, Catharine A. Grant and her husband Robert T. Grant and son, James A. Rice and his wife Justiniana D. Asis, as well as three grandchildren, Jamie D. Grant, Kristy Larsen, and John Larsen and two great-grandchildren, Zoe Larsen and Naomi Larsen and their mother Judi.
