Anthony E. Seachord

October 24, 1960 — July 18, 2024

Kingston

Anthony Elmus Seachord, known as Tony, was born on October 24, 1960, in Bremerton, WA, to Lealand and Darlene Seachord. He passed away on July 18, 2024, in Seattle, WA., at the age of 63. Tony was a proud enrolled member of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe located in Kingston, WA. He grew up in Little Boston, WA., where he shared a full household with his parents and five brothers: Terry, Tim, Tom, Ted, and Tracy. Tony was also raised alongside his first cousins—Duke, Penny, Johnny, Vicky, and Candy—who were more like siblings to him and his brothers. They all shared a close bond that lasted from childhood until his final days.

Tony attended North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo, WA., and his first job was at K2, where he helped craft skis. Later, he worked at North Star in silk-screening and spent many dedicated years as a facilities custodian for his Tribal Government and Safeway.

Tony had a remarkable talent for seeing potential where others might not, often transforming what seemed like discarded items into something useful. Though some jokingly called him a hoarder, Tony proudly referred to himself as a “collector.” His love for motorcycles, art, and cruising around the Rez was well known, as was his fondness for visiting the casino. Family gatherings and race days at the Bremerton Raceway with his brothers were some of his favorite pastimes.

Tony was a man of humor and generosity, with a quick wit that never failed to bring laughter to those around him. He shared his time, smiles, and artwork freely. Tony’s love for good food, storytelling, and jokes made him a beloved presence at every gathering. He will be deeply missed by many.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Lealand and Darlene Seachord, cousin, Johnny Moran, and his sister-in-law, Brenda Seachord. He is survived by his brothers Terry, Tim (Danno), Tom (Sally), Ted, and Tracy, his longtime partner and friend Marlo Charles, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tony’s family warmly invites friends and loved ones to a Celebration of Life on August 16, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribal Gymnasium.
