Barbara Ann Dierickx

Barbara Ann Dierickx, beloved mother, aunt, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024. Born on October 8, 1938, in Seattle, Washington, Barbara was the daughter of Kenneth and Hannah Quiett. She grew up in the Queen Anne neighborhood and later settled in Magnolia, where she raised her two cherished sons, Darin and Dean Dierickx.

Barbara dedicated the majority of her professional career to the financial industry, working as a banker at Bank of America, formerly known as Seattle First National Bank. She started as a teller and consistently pushed herself to break through glass ceilings, progressing through the ranks until she became a respected loan officer and eventually the branch manager. Barbara's tenacity and unwavering commitment to her work were true testaments to her character.

Outside of her professional life, Barbara had a passion for reading and was an avid supporter of both the Seattle Seahawks and the University of Washington Huskies football teams. She found great joy and comfort in listening to others stories and sharing experiences with loved ones. Barbara also cherished her role as a mother, treasuring the moments spent with her sons, Darin and Dean and her grandchildren. Family was the anchor of her life, and she poured her love and devotion into creating a nurturing and loving relationships and home.

One of Barbara's most proud achievements was raising her two boys as a single mother. Despite the demands of her full-time job, she never missed a sporting event or cooking a meal and made countless sacrifices to provide for her family. Her resilience and unwavering support were always admirable, authentic, and heartfelt.

Known for her warm and welcoming nature, Barbara opened her heart and her home to all who needed solace or a listening ear. She was there to provide comfort and guidance and had a knack for making everyone feel special. Barbara's cooking skills were legendary, and her dinner table was a gathering place for loved ones, filled with laughter and shared stories.

Barbara had a unique way of connecting with people, endearingly referring to everyone as "my dear." Barbara Ann Dierickx leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. She will forever remain in the hearts of her sons, Darin and Dean, grandchildren, Kalena and Natalie, Drew and Morgan Dierickx, daughters-in-law Shannon and Karen Dierickx, her nieces Kathy (K-Bird) Banning, Megan Brodsky, Erin Byxbee, and Susan Holme, nephews Michael and Joe Wilson, Jeffrey and Michael Head, Brett Tyler and Chad Dierickx and her dear friends. Barb's beloved feline siblings, who happen to be named brother and sister, will deeply feel her absence, as they have been her constant companions and a source of immense affection.

Rest in peace, dear Mom “My Dear”. Your love and memories will live on in our hearts forever.
