Betty Jean Mcdermott

passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at The Madrona House on Bainbridge Island, Washington. She was born on October 16, 1925 in Elyria, Ohio and was 91 years of age.Betty worked as a homemaker and a sales associate with JC Penney. Betty was a wonderful wife , mother and grandmother and took great pride in being an excellent homemaker. She passed on many of these skills to her children and grandchildren.Her family will forever cherish memories of the wonderful meals and family occasions that she celebrated with them. In her later years, she took such good care of her husband, Bob. She was a loyal and supportive friend over the years to many.Although her last couple of years were spent living with dementia, she never lost her warm smile or her kind and gentle spirit. She will be greatly missed by her family.Betty is survived by her children; Diane Toth (Will) of Bainbridge Island, WA, Mary Wyman (Bill) of Poulsbo, WA and Patricia Lieb of Wilmington, NC. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Jessica Toth of Ashland, OR and Kevin Toth of Seattle, WA, also her great-grandchildren Emmett and Alice Sible of Ashland, OR. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Robert McDermott.Private family services and internment will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
