Birgit Gunnarson Berg

was born in Kungshamn, Sweden in 1915. She immigrated with her parents to the Seattle area in 1920 and lived most of her life on Bainbridge Island. In 1951 she married Edward Berg. Together they provided a home known for its warm hospitality, music and salmon dinners.While sleeping, Birgit passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord on Tues., June 3rd, at the Crista Nursing Center in Seattle. She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia (and Tom) Oines, Grandsons Nathan (and Telia) Luke and Philip Oines; her brother, Sven Gunnarson; sister, Eva Manning; nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends.Birgit (and Edward) were lifelong members at the Bainbridge Alliance (Island) Church.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 14th, 2PM at the Kingston Christian Church, 11255 NE 2nd St. in Kingston, Wa.Memorial donations may be made to the Island Church or to Children of the Nations (in Poulsbo, Wa.)
