Carolyn Marie Shaw

57, passed away as a result of a car accident on her way to work as a nurse at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton. Carolyn is the daughter of George Bernard Shaw and the late Elaine Irene (Murphy) Shaw.Carolyn graduated from Alfred University (New York) with a B.S. degree in nursing. Shaw retired as a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy nursing corps. Carolyn was married to the late Michael Kelly and is the mother of Daniel S. Kelly, his mother's pride and joy. He is an Eagle scout attending Boston University with an NROTC scholarship.Carolyn was an active contributor to many charities; she was particularly passionate about animal rescue (she was a volunteer at Paws of Bremerton), as well as breast cancer research. We ask her friends to donate to these charities in her remembrance.Carolyn is survived by her son, Daniel; her father, George Bernard Shaw; her brother, Stephen; his wife, Michele; and their children, Bryce and Austin Anderson.A funeral Mass and reception will be held at Saint Olaf's Catholic Church in Poulsbo, January 30th, 9:30 a.m. In celebration of her wonderful and positive life, a gathering of friends and relatives are invited to attend.
