47, passed away unexpectedly on March 28, 2017, following a long and courageous struggle with addiction.Truth, known as "Tony" as a child, was born on April 25, 1969 in Los Angeles, California and grew up primarily in Seattle and Anchorage, sprinkled with months living overseas with his family in Avignon, France, and Krakow, Poland. Truth battled his way back from a period of addiction early in his life to earn his GED, an Associate's degree from North Seattle Community College, a Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington and a Master's degree in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He devoted his career and his personal life to helping others struggling with the insidious, deadly disease of addiction. Truth's quest for knowledge of both self and the Universe led him into many adventures - in books, travel and human connection. Truth was unfailingly generous with his hard-earned knowledge, love, spirit and time.The light and loves of Truth's life were, and will forever be, his three children, Maile (13) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Malia (12) and Malakai (9) of Suquamish, Washington. Truth's best self was never more evident than when he was able to spend time with his kids and watch their special talents blossom and grow.Truth is survived by his children; Deanna Romero, dear friend, ex-wife and mother of Malia, Malakai and Truth's stepsons Max, Marc and Manny; dear friend and Maile's mother, Aisha Williams; his sisters, Kim Romo of...Please spread the word that addiction is a disease, it is a nightmare for the addict and all who love them.
