passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at his home in Poulsbo, Washington. He was born on January 9, 1948 in Dublin, Ireland and was 61 years of age. He had lived in the Poulsbo area for the past 10 years and in the United States of America for 21 years. David had moved from Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland in 1987. He was a member of St. Olaf Parish in Poulsbo. David was a devoted father, who was absolutely adored by his children, Hugh and Aoife. He was a life-long lover of sailing and the water, and he enojoyed spending time with friends made throughout the world. A real gentleman who cherished his family and friends, he loved telling stories and talking about the "Old Country." He just moved into a beautiful new home in Poulsbo overlooking the water, where he was planning on mooring his boat. He was great with his hands and was looking forward to working on projects in his house. He enjoyed driving in his vintage Mercedes and dancing. His family and friends were so lucky to have been able to spend time with him recently at his son's wedding. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.He is survived by his children: Hugh Gallagher (son - 30 yrs) and his wife Summer, Aoife Gallagher (daughter - 26 yrs); brother: Antoine Gallagher and his wife Sheila; Aunt & Uncle: Kathleen and Stanley Power; former-wife: Eavanne O'Donoghue; cousins: Derek, Murtagh, Aileen, Chris, Rosemary, Mary, Stan, Joyce, and Niall. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Recitation of the Rosary on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 7 :00 PM at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 18943 Caldart Avenue NE in Poulsbo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 12:30 PM also at the church.
