Donald Harrington

passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Martha and Mary Health Care Services in Poulsbo, Washington. He was born on April 15, 1931 and was 83 years of age.Don had worked for S.S.C. & B. as an advertising executive and vice president. He started out in the mail room in 1956 and retired in 1989. He was also a US Army Veteran. Don was an avid fisherman, skier, gardner, reader and painter. He was also an avid boater and world traveler.After retiring from the world of advertising he was busier than ever as a volunteer at the Bainbridge Library Finance Committee, Matt Talbot Addiction Recovery Center, The Bainbridge Island Student Loan Committee, AARP Tax Assistance and most of all St. Cecilia Catholic Church.He is survived by his wife Jane E Harrington of Bainbridge Island, WA and his son's Thomas I Harrington of New York, NY and Paul K Harrington of Greenwater, WA. Don was preceded in death by his parents Thomas F Harrington and Rose Williams Harrington, also his brother Richard Harrington.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the recitation of the rosary on Saturday, January 31, 2015 starting at 10:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church on Bainbridge Island. A reception will follow at the church Conger hall. Arrangements entrusted to Cook Family Funeral Home.
