Doris A. Jones

passed away on Friday, October 19, 2007 at Fir Acres Health Care on Bainbridge Island, Washington. She was 97 years of age.She was born in Nebraska on January 9, 1910, but lived in Everett, Washington since 1936. Mrs. Jones worked for many years in the field of child welfare, four years of which were as Chief Probation Officer, Snohomish County Juvenile Court. She retired in 1972 from the position of Assistant Professor, School of Social Work at the University of Washington. She moved to Bainbridge Island to be with family in 2004.Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest A. Jones in 1970 and her sister Ruby Brissing in 1969. She is survived by a nephew and niece, Peter Brissing and Mary Jane Hynes of Bainbridge Island.She was a member of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Massachusetts and the Everett Branch Church.At her request, no service is planned.
