Doris Marie Ashe

February 15, 1938 — November 15, 2018

Doris Marie Ashe, 80, of Poulsbo, Washington, passed away surrounded by her family at the Harrison Hospital in East Bremerton. She was the daughter of Conrad Harvey Bowser and Leah Lorene Gentis. Her brother, Don Bowser, preceded Doris in death.

Doris attended Monrovia/Duarte high school where she was honored to be Queen of the city of Monrovia/Duarte. She was also approached by the California National Guard to enter their beauty pageant and she became the Queen of the National Guard.

On December 2, 1956, she married Larry William Ashe and they began 62 wonderful years together. They had three children, Larry Lee, Sharon Lorene and Robert William. They were also blessed with five grandchildren, Ashely Marie, Garrison William, Amanda Rose, Alicia Lorene and Sarah Lorraine. In addition it was a great joy for Doris to welcome her two great grandchildren, Elizabeth Lorene and Gabriela Rose. Doris was immensely proud of all of her family. They were her greatest joy.

Doris was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver. As her husband, Larry, was electrocuted in 1970 and became a double amputee, Doris put her heart and soul into taking care of and supporting Larry through the years. She was tireless in her efforts to keep her family moving forward with courage and conviction.

Doris is survived by her husband, Larry, her children, Larry (Pam), Sharon (Elray) and Robert (Kristen). She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
