, of age and was born on August 27, 1910 in Spokane, Washington.She grew up on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle and graduated from Queen Anne High School. She married George J. Carr of Kent, Washington in 1930. Their son, George Jr., was born to the Carr's in 1932. They lived for many years in Lake Forest Park. In 1948 they moved to Southern California to take advantage of a business opportunity. Dorothy's creative abilities contributed to their successful retail business in Baldwin Park, California.As a young teenager, Dorothy spent happy summers visiting her Norwegian relatives in Poulsbo. She remembered taking the Mosquito Fleet ferry, Hyak, from Seattle to Poulsbo. Met at the ferry by her cousins, they would walk the unpaved roads to the farm on Lincoln Road.She is survived by her son, George J. Carr Jr. of Bainbridge Island; three grandchildren, Leslie Kastelle of Bothell, WA, James Carr of Bainbridge Island and Kate Anderson of Sunnyvale, CA; and five great-grandchildren.Private graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.Arrangements entrusted to Cook Family Funeral Home.
