Douglas Joseph Marvel Jr.

67, of Suquamish, Washington. After struggling with cancer, he passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday, January 6, 2017. Douglas was born to Mary Margaret and Douglas Marvel on Feb. lst, 1949 in Springfield, Massachusetts.He was an accomplished athlete in his early years, touring Europe for soccer and achieving many records at swimming. He worked hard pouring foundations. He settled in Mashpee, Massachusetts and had two daughters Chanda Marvel DiSanti and Kelly Marvel. It was his undeniable work ethic that was the key to his character. Douglas could not ever stay still for very long, no matter what. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley. Most of all he loved being outdoors and in nature. He was a simple man, who didn't need much.Except the love of family and good friends. In the last few months of life, Doug was cared for by his loving daughter Kelly.Douglas was survived by his daughters Chanda Marvel DiSanti of Sandwich, Massachusetts (Justin Harriman), Kelly Marvel of Poulsbo, Washington (lustin Kirkby), Other beloved children, Marlin Georgejr, Skylene George, Serene George, Shellene George, and Duran George. Grandchildren Ketin Kirkby, Colton Parady & Addison Kirkby. Sisters Jean Marvel (Iohn Requart) and Barbara Marvel as well as nieces Leanne, Sydney and nephew Ethan.Arrangements are pending through Cook Family Funeral Home.
