passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at his home on Bainbridge Island, Washington. He was born on June 14, 1945 in Portland, Oregon and was 64 years of age. Dwayne for formerly from Gig Harbor, WA. He was educated at the Oregon Medical School, Stanford University and UCLA. He was worked as a cardiac perfusionist. Dwayne practiced at a hospital in Fresno, at UCLA hospital, and Swedish Hospital in Seattle. While in the medical arena, he obtained a patent for an in-dwelling catheter. After medical retirement, he worked with Genentech (drug company that cloned human insulin). Afterwards, he started his family-run company, ForeBears, which created and crafted Native American art work made the traditional way. Dwayne was a classic car aficionado, garage sale guru, avid reader of books, aspiring author and loved playing with his grandchildren. He was a "B" movie fan, a lover of dogs, tinkerer, creator, and dreamer. Dwayne was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents David G. and Elsie A. Saice. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Elisabeth Herrick and his children; David G. Saice, Raina Saice, Blaine S. Hogg, Brandon E. Hogg, Lara E. Hogg, David S. Saice and Kirah G. Saice, Nolan J. Sisco (grandson). A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, at 2pm October 18, 2009 at the Island Music Center 10598 Valley Road on Bainbridge Island (206.780.6911).Memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of Kitsap County.
