Edward Jon Lofgren

passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. He was born on May 18, 1951 and was 64 years of age. Arrangements are pending through Cook Family Funeral Home."Eddie" passed away at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, WA on Friday, September 25, 2015, surrounded by family and dear friends. He was born in the Winslow Clinic, Bainbridge Island, May 18, 1951, the son of Captain Eddie Lofgren and Marion Bridston Lofgren.As a boy growing up on the Island, he played Little League and was a Cub Scout. In his later teenage years, he fished in Alaska with our Uncle Carl McLean. At the age of 17 he began working at Olympic Glass then owned by the Bernhard's on Bainbridge Island ultimately buying the business years ago.Activities in his early adult years included playing softball, coaching, umpiring, and golf. These activities brought many years of fun for Eddie and created close lifelong friendships with so many Islanders. His quick wit and caring generous heart was evident within minutes of meeting him. He was and will continue to be loved by all that knew him. His light and spirit will forever be a part of Bainbridge Island, the Island he loved.He is survived by his sister, Linda Lofgren Hebert, his niece, Darby Liva Hebert, brothers, Ty and Peter Lofgren, stepson, Fraiser Soderstrom, and many cousins.The celebration (party) of Eddie's life will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 10, in the Filipino Community Hall, Bainbridge Island, WA. Please bring a dish to share and your favorite beverage.
