Evelyn B. Shafer

passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. She was 92 years of age and born on November 22, 1914 to Frank Berkebile and Golda Arnold in Swanton, Ohio. She had lived on Bainbridge Island at the Madison Avenue Retirement Center for the past six years.She moved to the area from Los Gatos, California. Evelyn was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the Los Gatos Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.Evelyn is survived by her daughter Patricia Strange and her son-in-law Allen Strange, also her granddaughters; Robin and Erin Strange and great-grandson Donovan Strange-Pruss. She was preceded in death by her husband John L. Schafer in 1988 and sister Irene Sagert in 2005.Inurnment will take place at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.Arrangements by Cook Family Funeral Home.
