Faye Ione Holland

passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at her home on Bainbridge Island, Washington. She was born on April 18, 1919 in Tacoma, Washington and was 90 years of age.Faye lived on Bainbridge Island for the past 24 years. She was a prominent artist and gave lessons to many on the Island over the years. Throughout her life, she also lived in France, Germany, Italy, Puerto Rico and Canada. All of these places showed up in her paintings. She was able to paint right into her 90's. She also sang as a tenor in her church choir. Her faith in God, and her church, have been the anchors in her life. Faye said, "I have lived a beautiful, charmed life to the fullest". She is survived by her children; Terry Holland-Meyers of Bainbridge Island, Kay Clark of Modesto, California, Stephen Holland of Bainbridge Island, also her siblings; Gail Smith of St. Louis Missouri and Glenn Stannley of Redmond, Washington. There are eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Christopher Holland in 1997 and her granddaughter Susan Nash- Herbert in 2000.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Memorial Service on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 4:00 PM at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church on Bainbridge Island (Directions). Inurnment will take place at the church cemetery.
