Francis Seward "Pete" Peterson

passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at his home on Bainbridge Island, Washington, at the age of 83.He was born on September 11, 1926 in Port Angeles, Washington. Francis grew up, attended high school, and raised a family in Port Townsend. In 1972 he, his wife Adele and family moved to Bainbridge Island. His life centered round Adele, his family and the ChurchFrancis attended the US Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York, graduating in 1947, as a Marine Engineer and accumulating over 30 years at sea.Francis is survived by his wife Adele Frances Peterson, children; Kathy (Ed) Smith, John Peterson, Peter (Susan) Peterson, Barb (John) Moots, Jim Peterson, Chris Springer, Teresa Peterson, Patty Peterson and Michelle (Ray) Peterson. He also leaves behind his sister Anne Maloney, eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Recitation of the Rosary on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 10:00 AM and the Memorial Mass to follow at 10:30 AM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 1310 Madison Avenue NE on Bainbridge Island. A reception will follow at the church's Conger Hall. Memorial donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul (via St. Cecilia) or Hospice of Kitsap County.
