Fusako Horishige

"Sako", passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. She was 88 years of age and born on July 18, 1919 on Bainbridge Island, Washington.Sako lived on Bainbridge throughout her life. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and enjoyed working in her garden, especially with her orchids and rhododendrons. She also was active earlier with the Bainbridge Island Senior's Center.Sako is survived by her children; Jack Horishige of Peoria, Arizona, Nancy Horishige of Seattle, WA, Bette Horishige Kroemer of Seattle, WA and Mike Horishige of Bainbridge Island. Sako also leaves behind two grandchildren, Michaela and Jim. She was preceded in death by her husband James Takeshi Horishige in 1981.Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Monday, March 17, 2008 starting at 2:00 PM until services at 3:00 PM at Bethany Lutheran Church, 7968 Finch Road on Bainbridge Island on Bainbridge Island. Inurnment at Island Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Bethany Lutheran Church or the Bainbridge Island WWII Nikkei Memorial Fund.Arrangements entrusted to Cook Family Funeral Home.
