Gary Lee Nolta

June 11, 1941 — July 2, 2022

Assistant Chief Gary Nolta, Mail Carrier, Ambulance Association, however, if you knew Gary you would have known what a well-loved and dedicated soul he was.

Gary passed away on July 2nd, 2022. He was at home and at peace, with his wife and best friend, Paula ( Parks ) Nolta. Gary's dedicated friends and family supported and blessed him with a kind of loyalty that you just don't see in today's hurried and rushed world. His friends came to pick him up for their coffee socials at Walt's Lynnwood Market after he had to quit driving and sat by his bedside telling stories that made Gary smile until the end.

Gary spent three years in the Army as a Pay Master stationed at Schofield Barracks in Oahu, Hawaii. After his service he returned to Bainbridge Island, to resume his job as a Mail Carrier in Seattle. He transferred to Bainbridge Island at the first chance possible. Gary's real passion was the BIFD where he was a volunteer for 59 years starting as a dispatcher in 1962. He retired as Assistant Chief In 2021. There was an amazing celebration for his retirement at station 21 with a standing-room-only crowd. Gary was honored and amazed at the friends and family that showed up for him.

Gary is survived by his wife and best friend, Paula ( Parks ) Nolta. Sisters Linda ( Nolta ) Rogers and Steve Elmore, John and Glenda ( Nolta ) Allen. John and Sherry ( Nolta ) Shellman. Chuck and Brenda ( Parks ) Armbruster. Doyle and Harriet Parks. Wayne and Sandi ( Beach ) Kleepe. Don and Shelli ( Beach ) Strickland. Lori Beach. Michael(Parks) and Caroline Lang. Gary is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and countless friends.

Rest in peace our beloved Gary.
