Geneva Vivian Ives

85 of Little Boston, WA went to the Lord on February 3, 2009 at her home surrounded by loving family. Geneva was born to Clara and Foster Jones on April 18, 1923. The eldest of 13 children, she was the first Port Gamble SʼKlallam Tribal member to graduate North Kitsap in 1941. She married Joseph C. Ives on June 17, 1944.Geneva dedicated her entire life to the Lord; she was a faithful member of SʼKlallam Worship Center. She was very talented and a teacher of many things; SʼKlallam culture, language and song, beadwork, traditional foods and medicine, and the worship of God. She played guitar, piano, accordion and harmonica which she passed down to several members of her family. Geneva was a teacher, assistant to the medical clinic in Port Gamble and retired as a clerk from the S'Klallam Smokeshop. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph C. Ives, brother; Robert Jones, sisters; Virginia Ives, Helen Nicholson, Betty Roberts, Leola Sparks, daughter; Carmelita Seachord, grandchildren; Santana and Edawnya Ives and great-grand daughter, Shannon Sullivan. She is survived by her brothers, William, Daniel, Floyd, Jake, Don and Gene Jones, 6 Children, sons; Joseph, Raymond and Patrick Ives and daughters; Tina Ives Armstrong, Debra and Betty DeCoteau, 31 grand-children, 35 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and alot more loving family. You will live within our hearts for now until that beautiful day we meet again.Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 7, 2009 11:00am at Little Boston Tribal Center, Kingston, WA.
