George G. "Gale" Cool of Bainbridge Island passed away in his favorite place Tuesday evening February 26, 2019. Born in Seattle, WA., on May 25, 1947 he was the son of George Evan and Virginia Jane (Reynolds) Cool and was 71 years of age.
Gale moved to Bainbridge Island in 1971 where he became a developer and environmentalist. In 1975 he would marry his loving wife, Marja (Verhoef) Cool and together they would raise a family and become an integral part of Bainbridge.
After years of developing and as his environmental concerns grew, Gale would jokingly refer to himself as an "undeveloper" and was remembered by most by that title. During his career, Gale built a large estuary on his property and was a true proponent for restoring the environment and natural beauty of the Island for future generations.
Gale is survived by his loving family and many friends.
Additional information will be provided by the family. Services and interment will be private at the request of Gale.
Arrangements are entrusted to Cook Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
