Glenn C. Wiprud

passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at The Messenger House on Bainbridge Island, Washington. He was born on February 18, 1931 in Seattle, Washington and was 78 years of age. Glenn was a resident of Poulsbo, Washington where he had lived for the past 15 years. He moved from Redondo Beach, California. He graduated from The University of Washington and attained two degrees in engineering. He spent eight years in the Navy and was on active duty with the USS Mathews for three of those years. He worked for TRW of Redondo Beach, California as an executive for over 20 years. Glenn volunteered with AARP at tax time every year. He also volunteered his time with the Poulsbo Middle School, reviewing the upper class essays, also the Race For The Cure. Glenn enjoyed woodworking, traveling, gardening, but most of all his greatest love was his family. He is survived by his wife Barbara A.B. Wiprud of 27 years, his children; Glenn C. Wiprud, Jr., Barbara C. Wiprud Sousa and Valerie L. Wiprud, his siblings; Jackie Wiprud Martin, Dan Wiprud (Pat) and Frank Wiprud (Gail) and his grandchildren; Katherine and Justin Sousa. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Graveside Service, with military honors, on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. A reception will follow at the family home in Poulsbo. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Kitsap County.
