passed away peacefully in the early hours of the morning on Saturday, October 20th at Martha and Mary Nursing Home in Poulsbo, Washington. She had been living there since January, 2007.Born Irene Ann Wanago in Havre, Montana on January 31, 1928, where she spent her childhood growing up with two brothers in Montana. She finished school and married her husband, Gordon, and just one month later, moved to Billings where she worked as a bookkeeper and resided for 23 years. Later, Gordon's work took them to Spokane where they lived for 26 years enjoying many friendships. For the past six years they lived in Poulsbo, Washington to be close to their daughter Wendy and her family.Irene loved her family and grandchildren deeply and was crazy about her dog, Lily. Until rheumatoid arthritis prevented her from doing so, she loved to garden and was famous for her Sunday night dinners. she was an avid Gonzaga Basketball fan and never missed watching her Zags and cheering them on tv!Her contagious laughter will be remembered by her husband, Gordon, her children Wendy and Michael and their spouses, Brian and Heidi, as well as her four grandchildren, Jacqueline, Lauren, Hanna and Jack.Arrangements are pending through Cook Family Funeral Home.
