passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Island Health and Rehabilitation on Bainbridge Island, Washington. He was born on May 25, 1927 in Everett, Washington to Ralph and Hazel Minor. He was 83 years of age.Jack graduated from Snohomish High School in 1945; he was on the honor roll and a three year football letterman. Jack later attended the University of Washington. He worked with Ford as an automotive salesman, including owner of the Ford dealership in Monroe, WA - Minor Motors. Jack also developed computer applications for fleet sales in the state of Washington.He was a Veteran with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was also a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity at the UW and the Monroe Junior Chamber of Commerce. In 1961 he was the National Director of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.Jack enjoyed gardening and farming, salmon fishing, crabbing, clamming, birding, bee keeping, lapidary and art projects such as painting, mosaics and woodcarving. He also liked to read, do math puzzles and brain teasers. He had a wonderful sense of humor. Jack loved nature and would rather be outside than anywhere else. We will remember him as gentle, patient, warm, and generous with his time and energy to help friends and family. Jack was liked by everyone who knew him. He was truly everyone's friend. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his brothers; R. Hugh Minor of Marysville, WA, Dean Minor of Tacoma, WA, Don Minor of Everett, WA, his first wife Barbara Minor of Freeland, WA, daughters; Shelley Minor of Bainbridge Island, WA, Anne Minor of Portland,Oregon, Leslie Minor of Sisters, OR, Candace Minor Kim of Oakland, California, son Jack Kaylor Minor, Jr. of Stanwood, WA, daughters Cynthia M. Hebert of Roslyn, WA and Susan Schanen of LaConner, WA and his son Adam C. Sullivan of Olympia, WA. There are 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Doris Minor and his second wife Jesse Minor. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Memorial Service on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Everett, 1616 Pacific Avenue in Everett,WA. Memorial contributions can be made to the N.O.A.H. Center (Northwest Center for Animal Help) of Stanwood, WA. Please sign the online Guest Book for the family.
