most recently, father to his now 11 year old daughter Natalia and California attorney. Previously, Local 660 union representative; civil rights organizer; disco club manager in Norway; aerial map surveyor in Liberia, Africa, traveler to Mexico and Central America; and actor in films and on stage. Jim was born on August 12 1938 to Eileen and James Clemons in Hollywood, CA. His dad was a famous vaudeville dancer and Jim grew up in a theatrical family.In his early years he was in a number of movies, including, "Since You Went Away" and"Gildersleeve's Bad Day". As a young adult, he traveled to Mexico and Central America; worked on an aerial map project in Liberia, and ran a disco in Norway. He came back to Los Angeles to get his Master's degree in American Studies and go back to Norway to teach at the University. However, after graduating, he remained in Los Angeles. After working with Local 660 for a while, he went to Loyola Law School, where he graduated with honors.Jim practiced law for many years with his wife, Mary Stearns, in Los Angeles. The family moved to Bainbridge Island, WA in 2009. Always an activist, his last project was to repeal the 2nd amendment right to bear arms which he believed largely contributes to gun violence. He passed away on August 5, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Mary and daughter Natalia. The funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 at 2:30 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood, CA. Arrangements entrusted to Cook Family Funeral Home.
