James Vincent Lovell AKA Jim was born 09/04/1947 in Seattle, WA, and died at the age of 74 on 05/22/2022 in Bainbridge, WA. He was a husband, a father, a grandfather, an uncle, a great-uncle, and—of course, a cousin who is survived by his sister Janet, his wife Maryln, children Jeannine and James K Lovell, step children David, Kathy, Kristie, and Mike— noting that Kathy and Mike were very young when Jim entered their lives, grandchildren Zachary Lintner, Jacob Lintner, and Matthew Zuleger, niece Lanette Miller, nephew Trevor Vincent Miler, great-niece Elise Maxine Miller, and cousins spread from here to breakfast around the country.
He was preceded in death by parents John Vincent and Mary Maxine Ellingson Lovell, cousins Barbara Lovell Samuelson and Phillip Bertholf, and a second cousin Dino Datsopoulus. Grandparents Vincent Albert Lovell and Winifred Viken Lovell, the tie that binds, also among those we miss.
Jim graduated from Custer County High in Miles City, MT, in 1965 and from the U of MT School of Business with a major in Real Estate in 1970. Boating, King Charles Cavaliers, Cooking and playing Cribbage were all things he was passionate about. He had worked for Navos Mental Health Seattle for 10 years when a major stroke and open-heart surgery six years ago effectively took him out of the job market and put a crimp in his stye as the saying goes. It is a given that family, the Cavalier dogs, and Cribbage players were there to buoy him up in what would prove to be the final chapter of his life.
Transitioning from 2021 into 2022 would spell the beginning of the end as he went from home to hospital to Rehab Center near home.
Concept that going home was no longer an option perhaps a reason to check out figuratively speaking. They would find him fully dressed, sitting in a wheelchair, his soul Heaven bound in the wee hours of the morning on 05/22/2022.
“Suffering is for the living.”
