passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010 at Martha and Mary Health Care Services in Poulsbo, Washington. He was born on January 21, 1931 in Los Angeles, California and was 79 years of age.James graduated from Loyola High School in Los Angeles. Jim served three years in the Coast Guard aboard the Cutter Winona stationed in Port Angeles WA, Upon discharge he returned to Los Angeles and was employed by Pacific NW Bell (Quest] He later moved his family back to Washington State and resided on Bainbridge Island for 30 some years. He was a member and a past president of the Bainbridge Island Rotary Club. After he retired from Quest as an installation supervisor and the children were grown he and Carol moved to Lake Chelan and spent the next 20 years playing golf. While in Chelan he read to the children in the second grade and also delivered Meals on Wheels for a time. He is survived by his wife Carol LaGranduer of Poulsbo, WA, children; Rich (Sally) LaGrandeur of Suquamish, WA, Greg (Janette) LaGrandeur of Lynnwood, WA, Tim (Marie) LaGrandeur of Suquamish, WA, Michele (John) Burnett of Poulsbo, WA, Annette LaGrandeur of Poulsbo, WA and Nancy (Fred) Loring of Dallesport, WA. There are 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dick LaGrandeur and sister Dorothy Kavanaugh. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Recitation of the Rosary on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 10:30 am, followed by the Memorial Mass at 11:00 am at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Poulsbo, WA.
