Janet Ruth Townsend

went home to be with the Father on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from her home in Poulsbo, Washington.She was 75 years of age. She was born December 9, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska to Edward and Minnie Brocker. She married Harold Oliver Townsend on September 27, 1952. They had and raised two children. They retired to Mukilteo, Washington in 1986. After Harold died on December 11, 1997, she moved with her daughter to Poulsbo, Washington.Janet was a wonderful mother, wife, and friend. She enjoyed being with friends, entertaining, cooking for the holidays, sewing for her grandchildren, and oil-painting. She participated in the Old Towne Silverdale Artwalk for the past two years and was a member of the Poulsbo Art League. Pleasing her Lord and family was most important to her.Janet will be greatly missed by her daughter Christine, who lives here in Wahington, and her son Todd, daughter-in-law Charity, and grandchildren -- Lucas 12, Alaina 9, and Jared 6 -- who live in Western Montana.Heartfelt thanks to her special friends and those from the Poulsbo Art League (PAL) who visited, sent cards, and kept her in their prayers.Memorial services will be held at Vinland Lutheran Lutheran Church, 2750 NW Finn Hill Rd., Poulsbo, WA, on November 10th at 11:00 am.Arrangements through Cook Family Funeral Home.
