On Friday, December 10th, 2021 Jean Collins, 82, passed away on Bainbridge Island, WA. Jean was born on March 20th, 1939 in Oakland, California to parents Les and Dot Larsen.
Upon graduation from high school, she went to school for a year in Edinburgh, Scotland, and traveled Europe. She regaled her family with tales of these adventures frequently through the years.
She moved to Reno, Nevada in 1968 where she raised her children and remained there for 40 years. She had a large circle of very close friends and gathered regularly with them for football on Sundays, shopping, parties, and dining. She absolutely lived and died with the fortunes of her beloved Oakland Raiders and passed along her passion for the team to her two children. A
successful bookkeeper, she ran her own business and had a long list of clients.
She relocated to the Kitsap peninsula in 2009 to be closer to her daughter and her family. Jean loved her family and friends dearly and was never happier than to be gathered with them – with the Raiders playing on the television, of course.
She is survived by her daughter Jackie Chotiner and her husband Darren, her son Ken and his wife Amy, and three grandchildren, KC, Stephanie, and Bree. She is also survived by her sister Karen.
A service will be held in her memory on December 29th at 12:00 at Cook Family Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island. For those who cannot attend in person, a Zoom link will be made available.
