Joann Wallace Millican

February 18, 1929 — April 13, 2020

JoAnn Wallace Millican, 91, a lifelong resident of Bainbridge Island, WA., passed away quietly on Monday, April 13, 2020, at the Madrona House Assisted Living on Bainbridge Island. Born in Seattle, Washington she was the daughter of the late Chalmers E. and Loiletta (Carle) Wallace.

A graduate of Lincoln High School on Bainbridge, JoAnn went on to attend Willamette University and then Seattle Pacific College where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education and graduated magna cum laude in 1965. JoAnn went to work as an elementary school teacher and over her 24-year career would teach 3 generations of students many of whom still have fond memories of her. JoAnn was also a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Preceded in death by 2 of her children, Larry Andrew Millican and Laurie Jo Millican, she is survived by her son Joel Wallace Millican and his wife, her grandson Jacob Millican and his wife, her 4 great-grandchildren; Savannah, Aynslie, Carmen, and Ethan Millican and her sister and 2 brothers Betty Lou Nadeau, Dale Wallace, and Don Wallace.

A memorial service will be announced once it is safe to gather. Her interment will be made privately in Hillcrest Cemetery on Bainbridge Island.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Cook Family Funeral Home of Bainbridge Island, WA.
