John Irven, Sr.

passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on July 23, 1923 to the late Dr. John J. Irven, surgeon, and the late Mary Agness Craig. He was 85 years of age. John is survived by his wife Thelma F. Irven (Wilcox) of Bainbridge Island, whom he married in Crawford Park, Verdun, Quebec Canada on August 29, 1948, also his son John J. Irven, Jr. of Bainbridge Island and his wife Nancy, daughter Carol Irven Iglesias of Locust Grove, Virginia and her husband Jose, grandson Lance J. Irven of Missoula, Montana, granddaughter Anna Iglesias of Locust Grove, VA, a sister Diane Wadman and her husband Bruce of Salona Beach, California. John's career, of almost 30 years, was spent in the pension and health insurance field in Canada and The United States. He was the assistance vice president with Marsh and McLennan of Seattle, WA. John later became the owner and broker of the Poulsbo Real-estate. He served during WWII with the Royal Canadian Air Force, Aircrew pathfinders. At his request, no services will be held.
