John Myrel Lehman

John passed away peacefully at home on November 24th, 2018 in Bremerton, WA. Born on January 7th, 1935 in Chicago Illinois, his parents were John Stanley and Elmyra Olga (Schellin) Lehman. He graduated from Lane Technical High School in 1953. John served in the United States Coast Guard from 1953 to 1973 as a photographer, and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. He and family were stationed in Cape May, NJ, Norfolk, VA, Juneau, AK, Washington, D.C., and New York, NY, before retiring to East Lyme, CT. He and his wife Carol resided there until 2016, when they moved to Bremerton to be closer to family. In 1954 John married Carol Matchner of Cape May NJ. She survives him. In addition, he is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Snyder (Peter) of Baltimore, MD, and Jill Lehman (Henry Warner) of Bainbridge Island and two grandchildren, Bennett and Elizabeth Snyder. A private internment will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to PAWS Cat Shelter in Bremerton, WA.
