"Bob" passed away on April 11, 2009. He was born October 24, 1922, the second son of John F. and May Lynett Croghan.Bob was a writer, broadcaster, raconteur and bar keeper. He worked in TV stations in Anchorage, Alaska; Missoula, Montana; and Seattle, Washington and had been an advisor to the Voice of Kenya in Nairobi for four years in the 1960's. He worked in sales and did TV talent and produced and voiced numerous radio commercials. He loved hunting for deer and elk, lebkuken, reading the classified ads and buying and selling used cars. While he lived in numerous places throughout the world, his heart remained in his beloved home town, Honesdale, Pennsylvania.The final 13 years of his career, he was Director of Information and Advertising for Cascade Natural Gas Co., a public Utility serving some 200,000 customers in Washington and Oregon.His mother was widowed with two small children in 1927 when John F., a pharmacist in Jadwin's Pharmacy, passed on.John was a graduate of the University of Washington and served in the US Army from January of 1943 ‘til August 1950.He is survived by his wife, Joanne, of 43 years. They have one son Patrick John, born in 1976.There will be a Mass of Remembrance on May 28 at 10 AM in St. John's Church in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.
