passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 at home in Kingston, WA. Johnnie Lee Horner was born April 8, 1936 in Cassville, MO the daughter of William E and Elisa Smith.She was united in marriage to Maxie Lee Horner on June 10, 1956 in Cassville, Mo. They were married for 60 blissful years.Johnnie received her Bachelor of Education degree from Idaho State College in Pocatello, Idaho. She taught elementary school in Buhl, ID and Battleground, WA for more than 40 years.Mrs. Horner was an active member of the Bainbridge Island Methodist Church and sisterhood of PEO, Philanthropic Educational Organization. She loved spending time with family, long walks with Max and their dog(s), golf, outdoor activities and traveling after retirement.She is survived by her husband, Maxie Lee Horner, Kingston WA; son, W. Scott Horner, Bainbridge Island WA; and grandson, Skylar Lee Horner, Seattle WA and preceded in death by a son, Amos Lee Horner in 1982, brother Sydney Smith in 2015, brother-in-law Glennon Horner in 2014, and daughter-in-law Debbie Horner in 2009.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society and PEO.Memorial Services for Johnnie Lee Horner, 80, a resident of Kingston, WA will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Kiana Lodge, Poulsbo, Washington.
