Jon Richard Countryman

d. May 20, 2011

passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011 in Bremerton, Washington. He was born on August 29, 1946 in Everett, Washington. He was a resident of Bainbridge Island, WA and was 64 years of age. Rick graduated from Mt. Rainier High School and later joined the Army. He graduated from Oregon State University. Rick met and married Kathy Woodman in 1981 and they purchased their future home and business, Countryman Stables. Over the thirty years at the stables, he trained horses and riders alike. Many of his students went on to achieve championship status. Rick mentored many children who saw the stable as a second home. He cared for each one of them, as much as they adored him. Rick had a wonderful sense of humor and he loved teasing the kids as much as they loved to tease him. He was a beloved husband, father and friend and will be missed. He is survived by his wife Kathy Countryman, children; Katie Countryman-Starks of Kingston, WA and Kevin Countryman of Bainbridge Island. He also leaves behind his brother Rodney Countryman of Bothell, WA and his beloved grandchildren; Daniel, Justin and Kayla. Rick was preceded in death by his parents Marion and Eugene Countryman.
